This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using the Receptioner platform operated by Redium Limited (NZBN: 9429046707000). It forms part of the Terms of Service and applies to all account holders, their staff, and anyone accessing the platform through a customer's account.
We reserve the right to update this AUP from time to time in accordance with the notice provisions in the Terms of Service.
1. Who this applies to
This AUP applies to business customers and their authorised users. Business customers are responsible for ensuring that their staff and any other person using the platform on their behalf complies with this AUP.
2. Prohibited activities
You must not, and must not permit any third party to:
- Use the platform to violate any law in your jurisdiction or the jurisdiction of any Individual User, including privacy, consumer protection, anti-spam, export control, sanctions, and anti-money-laundering laws;
- Upload, transmit, or store any content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening, discriminatory, or that infringes another party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
- Store credit card numbers, CVVs, or other cardholder data anywhere on the platform other than in the Stripe-backed payment-method mechanisms we provide;
- Send unsolicited commercial electronic messages through the platform in breach of the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 (NZ), the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), or any equivalent law;
- Collect health, medical, or other sensitive information from Individual Users without a lawful basis and appropriate consent;
- Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the platform, or to breach any security or authentication measures, other than through our responsible-disclosure channel at security@receptionerapp.com;
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the platform, including by introducing viruses, worms, or other malicious code;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the platform, except to the extent permitted by law;
- Use the platform to build a competing product or service, or to benchmark it without our prior written consent;
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit access to the platform other than as expressly permitted by the Terms of Service;
- Access the platform using automated means (scripts, bots, scrapers) other than via our documented APIs and within any published rate limits;
- Impersonate another person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- Use the platform for high-risk activities where the failure of the platform could reasonably be expected to lead to death, serious personal injury, or severe environmental or property damage.
3. Individual Users and consent
Business customers are responsible for:
- Having a lawful basis to collect and process Individual User information through the platform;
- Obtaining all necessary consents, including parental or guardian consent where the Individual User is a minor;
- Providing Individual Users with appropriate privacy information about how their data will be handled;
- Honouring Individual User requests to access, correct, or delete their information as required by applicable privacy law.
5. Consequences of breach
A breach of this AUP is a breach of the Terms of Service. Depending on the severity of the breach, we may:
- Contact you to address the issue;
- Restrict or remove the offending content or configuration;
- Suspend your access to all or part of the platform;
- Terminate your account (with or without notice, as permitted by the Terms of Service);
- Report the activity to law enforcement or another competent authority where required or appropriate.
We will use reasonable judgement and, where circumstances allow, give you an opportunity to remedy the breach before taking action.
6. Updates
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes that adversely affect your rights are subject to the 30-day notice requirement in the Terms of Service.
